Do I need a plumber to install the P Trap Pal?
No. The P Trap Pal can be installed by hand with no tools required. See our installation instructions for details.
Why does the water in my p-trap dry out?
The most common way a p-trap can dry out is from evaporation as a result of inactivity. There are a number of other ways a p-trap can lose water including improper ventilation, wind oscillation, capillary action, and siphoning.
Does the P Trap Pal prevent the p-trap from drying out?
The P Trap Pal will slow the rate of evaporation of water from your p-trap, but even if the p-trap dries out it will prevent sewer odor and insects from entering your home.
Can the P Trap Pal be used to replace my p-trap?
We have had users report that they have used the P Trap pal in place of a p-trap, but the P Trap Pal is intended to be used in tandem with your p-trap.
My p-trap has water and there is a biofilm layer of bacterial growth that creates a rotten egg odor. Every time water runs through the p-trap, this biofilm is disturbed and I smell rotten eggs. Can P Trap Pal help with this problem?
Yes, the P Trap Pal is installed just above the p-trap and will provide a barrier that prevents odor from the biofilm in the p-trap from entering your bathroom.
Will the P Trap Pal cause debris to become lodged in my drain?
No, the P Trap Pal will pass debris that fits down the sink drain. It can be cleaned the same as a p-trap if needed.
Where can I purchase a P Trap Pal?
The P Trap Pal can currently be purchase through Amazon or at select Ace Hardware locations. We are expanding our retail presence and will provide retail locations updates.
